Just finished reading this remarkable book for the book club I'm part of. I have to say that I really enjoyed it.
To give you a synopsis of what it's about:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society came about when the Island of Guernsey was Occupied by the Germans during WWII. Written through a series of letters the story comes about because a man from this island gets a hold of a second hand copy of a book with an address in it of the previous owner. He proceeds to write to the woman the book belonged to and she, being a writer, learns his story.
Even as a work of fiction, there is a lot of history and research that had to go into this book. It's a wonderful book and I highly recommend reading it...A lot!
Well, based on your recommendation, I put the book on hold (I'm #65 in line!). I always love good book reviews. :)
