This weekend was filled up with a lot of stuff. I took lots of pictures too. Here is what we did. Saturday morning at 9:00 I hosted a toy swap. This is where everyone brings their toys they don't want any more to one location (my house) a day or two before hand and I organized every thing. We had baby toys, toddler toys, a few older kids things, puzzles, and lots of books. I had it open house style from 9-12 and the sooner you got here the better selection there was. So I had about 8 ladies participate. They came, picked up some new toys for there kids and then went on there way. It was a great success.

This is after the fact. I am seeing what can be used in our ward, other wise I will probably send some of it to DI.
Later on we went up to Utah State Fair Grounds. Aaron wanted to try out a Cyclocross Race. He started the race and half way around the first lap his tire popped. He had taken out a good chunk from his tire and sadly didn't have an extra wheel to replace it with. So it was a very short race. But he will do some more racing next month.

While we were down town we decided it would be fun to go to temple square. It had really been a while. We went and saw the fountains (big hit for Garrett) and toured the Beehive House (Brigham Young's House). Kaylie had read about it in the Friend magazine and wanted to see it herself. We briefly went into the Joseph Smith building (the kids got a kick out of the revolving doors). And them went and walk around the temple. They now let you on the grounds so you can walk around the outside of it up close. It is beautiful.
At the South Visitors Center they now have a model of the SLC temple were they have cut out the wall and you can see what the inside looks like. It is really exact from paint to pictures on the walls. It was very cool for Kaylie and Ean to see.

Sunday Aaron wasn't feeling great. I think he finally got the flu sickness the rest of us had earlier this last week so he stayed home from church. The kids did really well in sacrament meeting (thank goodness) and we got through our meetings. Then went and sang/played in the choir. I get to play for christmas which is sad and fine at the same time. I love to sing the christmas songs so if I'm playing, I'm not singing. Oh well. I really don't mind playing. Our Pianist is having her baby right around that time so they needed someone to fill in.
After that I came home to have a YW meeting and an hour and a half later I could finally relax a bit.
I told Kaylie we would make some Sunday white Bread and while I was at it I wanted to give some caramel apples a try since I had some granny smiths in my fruit basket.

About a half hour ago the bread finished and I am ready to call it a night.
Kaylie is back to school tomorrow after a three week vacation. It should be good to get back into a schedule. Well that was my weekend. Busy but fun spending time with Aaron and the kids.
Super cute blog and kiddos. Apples and bread look delicious! Any leftovers, you know where I live!
ReplyDeleteAnd breathe! Your weekend looked action packed. Although it's hard to tell, who has more hair in the picture w/ Aaron & Aubrey?
